It is 1:15 in the morning, the batteries have just conked out and the neighborhood dogs are barking BIG TIME. The mosquitoes are out in full force making a high-pitched sound as come in for a bite to eat.

Mangoes have been falling off the trees with a loud clank onto the tin roof of our neighbor’s house and with a loud thud onto our asphalt shingled roof. We used to have a dog that loved mangoes and he would keep the yard pretty clean of fallen mangoes. The current herd of mastiffs does not like mangoes, but the yard still stays pretty clean of fallen mangoes. But not so clean of other stuff deposited by the dogs. A couple of the security guards from the crèches come by every morning after they get off of their shift and pick up the fallen mangoes to eat and to take home.

The battery fixer guy came by at about 6:00 PM on Wednesday, but he didn’t really have what he needed to fix the batteries, so he said that he will be back around 9:00 in the morning. That would be a good thing.

We at the moment have Kelley from Australia and Sarah from Canada visiting with us. Both are tough and just go with the flow. That is real helpful when the flow isn’t going so well.

It is 2:05 in the morning and I am feeling tired although the barking dogs are going strong. I am typing this blog on a laptop and will post it when I get to the office in about three hours.

City power did come on at 3:15 and so we have had some charge into the batteries. The security guard just called me and said that one of the battery posts is glowing bright red. Not good! So I have shut off the city power to the batteries and will get working on it when it cools down and turns a normal color of gray.

It is not yet 6:00 AM but I suspect that it will be another interesting day in paradise.
