GROUP TRUCK, THE SISTAS, AND MORE

Posted: November 11, 2009 in Uncategorized
It is early morning and I am sitting at a table listening to a Count Baise cd with Maguire and Annie our two mastiffs lying on the floor.
It seems that we just get busier or perhaps it is because we are still having vehicle problems and so we are shuffling vehicles among our group to get where we need to go and do what we need to do.
Beth’s vehicle is still broken, but it is being worked on.  Hope (eternal optimist) to have it back soon.   Speaking of vehicles, today, we ordered the group vehicle that we have been raising funds for.  It is a 2009 Mitsubishi canter and we hope to have it within a week or so.

Once we have possession of it, we will have a cage built on the bed with a solid roof to put luggage and bench seats in the bed that can fold up when we are hauling stuff.  I want to personally say, "THANK YOU" for helping us buy this vehicle.  It will sure make it easier for us to transport groups that come to visit.  No more being sardined into my pick up or in Beth’s car.

SPEAKING OF VEHICLES
have you recently checked on the progress of the HEARTLINE RUNNERS who will be running the Disney Marathon in January 2010 to raise the funds to purchase an ambulance/multi-purpose vehicle for the Heartline Women’s Center?  Check it out at www.heartlinerunners.blogspot.com. We need just under $1200.00 to reach 10% of our goal of 60K.  Perhaps a number of those reading this blog could give $25.00 each to get us to the 10% mark.  What a joy it is to run for those that can’t and to give for those that can’t as well.

THE NEXT GENERATION OF SISTAS AND EGGS

All of our original sistas and roosters have now left us for their next mission in life of which I would rather not think about.  We have another generation of hens and roosters growing that were hatched at our house using a great little incubator.  Earlier this year, a friend Brenda Cooper, sent us a dozen Cuckoo Maran eggs from which 5 hatched and so we have two Cuckoo Maran sistas and three roosters.  I am amazed at how beautiful these bird are.  Well the sistas have started to lay beautiful brown eggs and the egg pictured above is from one of the sistas.  We in December will receive 80 sistas that we have ordered that as well will give brown eggs.  So our hen project from which we give eggs to the children and the ladies will soon have three different type of hens giving brown and white eggs.
This week we will be building another little hen house for the little ones to hang out in until they get bigger.

A BEAUTIFUL QUOTE FROM A PASTOR IN JOPLIN, MISSOURI

"Those girls, those Haitian girls were sent to this church to teach

us much more than we will ever teach them."

HE WAS REFERRING TO DINA AND BETHSABE, THE TWO YOUNG LADIES THAT WE
HELPED TRAVEL TO JOPLIN, MISSOURI WHERE THEY ARE ATTENDING CROWDER COLLEGE AND
CLEARLY MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THE CHURCH THAT THEY ARE ATTENDING.

THIS WEEK among the other stuff going on we will start repainting some of the rooms in the creches and some of the outside of the homes as well.  We have visitors coming in from the States to help with this project.

WE AS WELL this week will begin our Heartline Creole Language School geared toward those that want to learn Haitian Creole.  We will begin with 4 to 6 students and as with most things that we do here, we will start small and evaluate our performance and make adjustments and changes until we in a couple of years will have a top notch Creole language school here in Haiti.

Well it is a new day, the sun will be up in about an hour and I am ready to get out there and endeavor to make a difference in the lives of other through the power of Christ.  This one thing I am assured of in this new day:

Nice looking truck! Hope to get to take a ride in it!

  2. John says:

If we give it a name it will be called Indiana, since it was taking your group of 31 from Indiana in multiple vehicles that sent us over the edge and caused us to make a thrust to get the truck where we could not only fit all of you, but keep an eye on you too.
