This week Joel Thomas from Foothills Community Church in Avarda, Colorado will be coming to Haiti.  Joel is a pastor, friend, and one the the Heartline board members.  He is coming to minister to the Heartline community and to speak at church on Sunday morning.  But I am especially thrilled that he, on Saturday morning at our new property, will be speaking to men.  I believe in men and appreciate the times when we get together as men.  We will worship, pray, fellowship, eat, and be instructed in God’s word. It will be a special time.

It is not unusual for me on a Sunday at church to call men to come forward to pray.  It is amazing to see the front of the church two lines deep of men standing in front of the platform with their hands lifted high worshiping, praying and crying out to God. Some stand, some kneel, and some are on their faces.

It is fair to say that most of Heartline’s ministry in Haiti is geared toward women and children and this will not stop.  We believe that ministry to women can have a multiplication affect that can reach way beyond the number of women that Heartline directly sees.  See: TO FIGHT POVERTY, INVEST IN GIRLS

But we firmly believe that families, governments, and nations needs men who walk in integrity and honesty and love and courageously do the right thing even when it is difficult.  Men who are truth seekers and truth speakers and who are not afraid to stand alone when necessary.

Please pray with Heartline as we continue to seek God for the men of Haiti and as we look to God for that which we can do to make a difference in the lives of men.
